Sustainable funding partners play a crucial role in helping Bridge to Mobility make mobility possible. They serve as a bridge to long-term sustainability, ensuring that our mission of accelerating accessibility continues into the future. Their support also strengthens our ability to secure outside grants and move our mission forward.
Where We Started
Before Bridge to Mobility, three foundations were formed that focused on grants for wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs). All three attempts failed, which is why we were met with some apprehension when Bridge to Mobility was formed. How would our model be different from those that had tried before?
We knew the key to success would be getting the entire industry on board with our mission, and we would do that by proving ourselves. Thanks to initial seed funding from The MobilityWorks Foundation we were able to begin our work. Many (donors, mission-aligned non-profits and foundation grants) have contributed since. This month we close on 200 grants, moving forward on the mission of accelerating accessibility.
Where We’re At
Our sustainable funding partners have made a financial commitment to assist people who are wheelchair-bound attain independence, which in turn, improves their medical, educational, and employment outcomes. By supporting us, they play a critical role in a new, effective mechanism of affordability that has never existed before.
Our sustainable partners include MobilityWorks, United Access, Superior Van Mobility, Valley Superstore, Eureka Solutions, Banclease Acceptance, Northwest Mobility, Mobility of Denver, Newby Vance, Soderholm, Clock Mobility, Team Toyota Glen Mills, Future Mobility, some members of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (US and Canada), AMF Bruns, and Tempe Mobility. Our grants change lives, families and communities. Please support these partners as we aim to continue to expand our reach.
Where We’re Headed
Our goal is to raise at least $1 million annually, and with sustainable funding partners we are able to move closer to that goal. We aim to convert all 303 NMEDA dealers into sustainable funding partners.
Sustainability is not just a goal; it’s a necessity for individuals who are seeking mobility and independence. Without sustainable funding partners, affordability and access to these critical vehicles and our quest to accelerate accessibility is at risk. The increasing involvement of dealers is an important part of our story and vital to our long-term success.
Sustainable funding partners are the foundation that will keep Bridge to Mobility thriving for years to come.
